Green Star Certified Boxley Receives National Environmental Certification Award National Ready Mixed Concrete Association has presented Boxley's ready mixed concrete operations with the Green-Star Certification, a national environmental certification award. Boxley's Roanoke facility was the first in the state of Virginia to certify and our Welch facility was the first in the state of West Virginia to certify. All the Boxley facilities were certified in 2009.

To receive this award a plant must use an environmental management system that identifies environmental aspects and impacts of its operations along with setting environmental goals. It is based on a model of continual improvement.

The Fieldale quarry has been in operation for more than 50 years, mining rocks that are used to produce aggregate, block and concrete.
